Every room at The Alhambra Hotel is non-smoking and built on the same set of provisions. Choosing between them is really a question of how many people are sleeping and how much floor space the stay needs.

Queen Room with Two Queen Beds – Non-Smoking

Two queen beds give a family or a pair of colleagues genuine separation without pushing anyone onto a fold-out. The room is arranged so that both beds have their own side to walk around, and the walkway to the bathroom stays clear even with two open suitcases on the floor.

Air conditioning and heating handle the swing between a warm Alhambra afternoon and the cooler night that follows. The private bathroom comes with towels, linens, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer, and the refrigerator holds whatever came back from the restaurants along Commonwealth Avenue.

A desk, a wardrobe and a flat-screen television round it out, with free Wi-Fi reaching the room reliably enough to work, stream or make a call home at the end of the day.

King Suite – Non-Smoking

The king suite trades a second bed for space. One king bed sits in a room with more floor to move through and, where the layout allows, a seating area that gives the stay somewhere to happen other than the mattress. It suits longer visits, where a room starts to double as an office and a place to eat dinner.

The specification matches the rest of the property: air conditioning, heating, a private bathroom with linens and toiletries, a refrigerator, a work desk, wardrobe storage, a flat-screen television and free Wi-Fi throughout. Ironing facilities are available when the morning calls for a pressed shirt.

As with every room here, the suite is non-smoking, and the building is smoke-free from the entrance onward.

King Suite — one king bed and one sofa bed

This version of the suite keeps the king bed and adds a sofa bed, which is the practical answer for a third guest, a teenager who would rather not share, or two friends splitting a room on a longer trip through Southern California.

During the day the sofa is simply a sofa, so the room does not feel like a dormitory between check-in and lights out. In the evening it opens into a proper sleeping surface a few steps from the bathroom.

Everything else follows the same standard: climate control, private bathroom, refrigerator, desk, wardrobe, flat-screen television and free Wi-Fi. Cribs and extra beds are not available, so the sofa bed is the third sleeping place the room provides.

King Room

The king room is the most compact option and, for one or two people, often the most sensible. A king bed, a private bathroom, a desk and a refrigerator sit inside a footprint that is easy to keep tidy across a short stay.

It works well for a single night between flights, a solo work trip across the valley, or a couple who intend to spend the daylight hours in Pasadena and Los Angeles rather than in the room.

Air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen television, wardrobe space, free Wi-Fi and the same bathroom provisions as the larger rooms are all included.
